I'm still here!

Well, we changed web store providers and realized we'd be better off just updating the store using the "old" (it's not really old at all) platform.

So, update we did....in the meantime, this blog didn't get updated and I'm just to lazy to move posts from the "other" blog to this blog.

We're hoping you will like the new Dripping' Sauce store.  It is our hope that you noticed some slight changes in prices and the much prettier pictures of all five flavors.

Let us know how you like the updated site.

More stuff limited our ability to attend farmers markets, demos, etc.

Well, a few of you have wondered why you didn't see Drippin' Sauce more this summer….it's simply because of health.   Let's just say that a close call and some time with cardiologists have remedied the situation and we're ready to resume demos at Whole Foods (now we have Sweet Onion and Special Reserve in 5 locations, San Antonio on Blanco Road just north of 1604, in Austin at the Domain, Gateway, Lamar and Arbor Trails stores), at farmers markets and at the Dripping with Taste event on Sept. 12th.

We have other retail outlets, too, of course…Navidad (on 290), We Olive (Galleria), DS Pharmacy and Faraday's (Shops at the Galleria) among others.

See you soon….if you can't wait, just call 512-607-6610

Where you been, Mr. Ketchup?

In case you  didn't notice we've been sort of missing from farmers markets and events since December….some have asked about us and we're thankful for that and their loyalty.

Here's the deal…

Last year (2014) I experienced some sore back issues…turns out we needed surgery in Dec. to correct that problem.  During the recovery, which went very well, we anticipated return to the farmers markets, especially our home market in Dripping Springs (see their web site here) around the beginning of April.

Cool, except I experienced some issues that turned out to be heart related.  The problem was fortunately discovered early enough to be treated with medications, at least so far.  The prognostication is positive.  Let's just leave it at that.  That delayed our anticipated return to the markets.

So, when will you see us?  Come to the Dripping Springs Founders' Day celebration on April 25-26 on Mercer St. in downtown Drippin' (or "drip") as we call it.

Drippin' Sauce will be there with a full complement of our five wonderful flavors of ketchup.  We look forward to seeing y'all.

Texas Hill Country Olive Oil Company

I love my associates at the Texas Hill Country Olive Oil company and highly recommend you stop by their store on W. Fitzhugh in Dripping Springs, HOWEVER…

They will no longer be carrying Drippin' Sauce Ketchup.

Here's the story.

Cara is taking on more management of the tasting room and store.  She says they need more shelf space and therefore can't stock my products any more.  That would be fine, EXCEPT, she asserted that the volume of sales were not sufficient.  She said she obtained the data from her POS system.  However, the numbers she used were absolutely incorrect.  She claimed onesies-twosies per month while the actual numbers are significantly higher…by a lot.

She also claimed our margins were not sufficient….albeit by my calculations, we fit within norms of other other products they offer.  She claimed lots of things, none of which seem to make sense, but alas she is now the decision-maker and we have to suffer from her errors.  When we tried to help correct the basis for her decision it was clear she had made her decision, right or wrong, but it is a final decision.

I raise this to let you know that those of you who frequently purchased Drippin' Sauce at their store will have to find other outlets.  Try our website (drippinsauce.com) or call (512-607-6610) or email me (bill@drippinsauce.com) and we can help you out.

Word around town is that I am "upset" with her decision.   That is not quite right.  I am upset that someone who used erroneous data wasn't professional enough to acknowledge the facts and, instead, questioned my facts and inputs to her decision.

We'll find other local outlets to give our loyal customers even better options.

Our Troops Love Drippin' Sauce

A woman walks up to me at one of the farmers markets we attend…she says, "You're the 'ketchup guy', aren't you?"   (No this is not the start of a joke like those that start with "So, a guy walks into a bar...".)

Seems she is mom to US Army solder who was, until just recently, on duty in Afghanistan.  A short while ago she had sent one of our Gift Boxes (mainly because they ship really nicely) to her son over there.  He shared it with his unit…reportedly they loved it.

So, the unit was about to return to Ft. Campbell, KY and mom was going up to greet them back to the USA.  She took another box of Drippin' Sauce Ketchup…why? "Cause she loved them and knew that they loved some good ol' local stuff!

Ketchup for Valentine's Day?

It might not be candy or flowers but it still might be what someone would love to love you for!

As you might suspect we sell a lot of gift boxes for the Holidays that occur throughout the 4th quarter of every year…add to that a few for Mothers Day, Dads Day and Fourth of July and you might think that's about it.

Well, surprise…we find that people, more than we expected, like to cook using Drippin' Sauce Ketchup and they love gifts anytime throughout the year.

So, we weren't surprised with a little rush for Gift Boxes this week.   If you want one for your favorite Valentine, SHOUT (but do it quickly.)
